Hello, I am a BACP accredited counsellor, therapist and clinical supervisor and I help people with all aspects of emotional health. My background is in psychology and I have experience of working within the fields of person and professional development, relationship difficulties and substance misuse/dependency, including family members. I use an integrative approach drawing on a variety of disciplines including psychodynamic, (working with the unconscious) and cognitive behavioural therapy (looking at how your thinking may be influencing your feelings/behaviour, and vice versa). My aim is simply to assist you in finding solutions that best suit you.
I work with individuals, couples and groups. I offer face to face and Skype sessions. I'm BUPA recognised and have experience of facilitating therapeutic groups, presenting educational workshops, and carrying out clinical assessments. I provide both group and individual supervision, and supervisory supervision.
What is Counselling/psychotherapy, and how can it help?
The purpose of counselling is to provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions with someone who will listen in a non-judgemental way. It can enable you to make sense of and move through them into a more comfortable place within yourself. It can also be a useful space to look at how you make decisions, cope with stress, help you develop insight, and improve your relationships. My role is to help you deal with and overcome issues that are making you feeling uncomfortable or causing you emotional pain. As a therapist I am here to support you and respect your views, and in doing so help you find your own solutions and empower you to live your life in a way that is more fulfilling for you. Ultimately it's your space to talk about anything you want to talk about.
